Meet Dr. Brian Opp

St Francis Chiropractor and his daughter

Dr. Brian and their daughter, Haellie

I just wish I had known then what I know now.

Being healthy is more than just staying in shape and eating right, it goes much deeper than that. I wish my parents would have taken me to a chiropractor as a child so that I could have been adjusted at an early age to reap the benefits such as a better working immune system and having more energy throughout the day.

I knew that I wanted healthcare to be my profession.

I was drawn to chiropractic because a friend from college had started talking to me about the profession. I knew that I wanted to go into the healthcare field but after having numerous conversations and checking into what chiropractic offered people, it was a perfect fit. I could work with all types and ages of people, from infants to the elderly – which meant a steady stream of new encounters with patients.

Education was challenging and rewarding.

I went to Concordia College – Moorhead and graduated with a Biology Major and a Chemistry Minor. After that I attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. While in chiropractic college I took classes in anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, nutrition, radiology, physical diagnosis, as well as chiropractic technique classes. I am also a certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner and have taken extra courses on treating athletes with an emphasis on junior high and high school athletes.

Meet Dr. Cindy Opp

St. Francis Chiropractor Dr. Cindy with their daughter, Rissa

Dr. Cindy with their daughter, Rissa *Dr. Cindy’s focus at this time is community based education outside the clinic setting.

I never realized what a difference chiropractic care could make in life.

I have always suffered from year-round allergies and frequent colds and thought that I just had to live with the symptoms. Chiropractic care was recommended to me after a car accident, but the biggest impact was to an area of my life that until that point was only treatable by over-the-counter drugs. I was suddenly able to enjoy life again.

Drawn to chiropractic to Treat people with a holistic approach.

I didn’t really consider the chiropractic health care field until I was almost done with my undergraduate studies. I started to get cold feet when I was filling out applications for physician assistant schools and realized that I wasn’t nervous about the schooling – I just didn’t want someone else to dictate the care I provided, nor did I want to use traditional thought to treat common illnesses and problems.Chiropractic care offers such a refreshing approach to health care that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share it with others.

Family chiropractic care is what I specialize in.

I attended Concordia University in St. Paul for my undergraduate studies. My emphasis was Pre-med, with a Natural Science Major (Biology and Math Concentrations) and a Chemistry Minor. I completed my chiropractic studies at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. Studies included anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, cardiology, pediatrics, obstetrics, dermatology, radiology and major emphasis on chiropractic technique. I’ve also completed my Pediatric Certification (ICPA) as pregnant women and children are my specialty. As our clinic continues to grow I realize there is still such an incredible need for community education, not only in chiropractic care, but with health and fitness in general. My focus at this time is community based education outside the clinic setting. I continually tap and create resources with the school district as well as the surrounding businesses to outreach and make an impact in as many lives as possible.

The Common Thread

Our goal for all of our patients is to lead them toward a healthier life that they can enjoy, by providing the highest quality of chiropractic care possible.

Having a person walk in the door and say they can’t do something because it causes them too much pain – makes me want to work that much harder to get them back doing the things they love. Getting patients out of pain and moving better is the first step in our long term treatment goals. The next step is where patient’s health really improves, the corrective stage of care. The last step is the wellness stage where we take a patient’s health and continue to improve upon it. Health is always changing and the best way to stay healthy is to continue with what got you there in the first place.

We love to help our St. Francis area patients get out of pain, but we immensely enjoy helping families live happier, healthier lives. Seeing the bright smile return to a child’s face who before their chiropractic treatment didn’t feel well, or the relief spread over a mother’s face when her child can finally relax to fall into a much needed deep sleep – makes chiropractic care very real to us.

Cindy & I met at chiropractic school and have been married 10 wonderful years. We have been blessed with two beautiful girls who continue to amaze us each and every day. Haellie is a very caring and compassionate 6 year old who is in 1st grade. She loves to play outside, read, and play with all her friends in our neighborhood. Rissa is an independent and giving 4 year old who enjoys riding her bike behind daddy, playing house and “babysitting”. They are not only sisters but best friends as well. We all enjoy traveling to new destinations, swimming, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. We feel truly blessed to have been able to be a part of the St. Francis community and the surrounding area, it is a great place to live and raise our loving family.

Chiropractic Family at Opp Family Chiropractic in St. Francis

We are truly a chiropractic family.

We practice what we preach.

Our entire family receives regular chiropractic care. Cindy and the girls also receive cranial-sacral work. Brian enjoys working out regularly, playing softball and running 5K’s. We believe that the best way to approach health is to not mask a problem by treating the symptoms, but to address the underlying cause of those symptoms.

Our bodies were made with the ability to heal themselves given the opportunity, environment and tools to do so. Antibiotics and over-the-counter pain relievers should only be used on an emergency basis. Vaccinations give the impression that human bodies are naturally weak and instills a false sense of security while creating an environment that isn’t able to fully respond when called. Chiropractic care frees the nervous system, boosts the immune system and give our bodies what they need to heal themselves.
