Insight Subluxation Machine Misalignments of the spine, or subluxation, is a problem in the spine where an abnormal position/movement of the bones (vertebrae) disturbs communication within the brain and spinal cord causing a disturbance in the body. The interference in the body leads to a lowered resistance to diseases, pain, imbalances, and fatigue. It is sometimes called a “silent killer” because it can slowly affect your overall health without you even knowing it. Many people that go to a chiropractor have health issues that they do not know how got started. Pain is the last symptom to show up when dealing with misalignments of the spine and joints in the body so this does not surprise me. An easy explanation is that the misalignments have been present for some time and finally have done enough damage to cause you pain. It is not an overnight problem for most people because there is a build up of stress placed on that part of the spine that causes the misalignment. There is a new technology that helps identify where these misalignments of the spine are and how they are affecting your overall health. The Insight subluxation machine detects areas of nerve disturbance by a couple of different scans that can be performed. The first is a thermal scan that measures the temperature of your skin on each side of your spine. A healthy person has a body temperature of 98.6 degrees, then the left and right sides of your spine should also be the same temperature. Your skin is the largest organ in the body with many blood vessels working underneath the skin to act as the body’s thermostat. When a disturbance in the nervous system occurs it causes the body’s thermostat to malfunction producing imbalanced temperature readings along the spine. These blood vessels are controlled by the same part of the brain and spinal cord that runs your organs and glands, so it gives us valuable information on this part of your health as well. Another scan that we can do is called a surface EMG scan. This helps measure how well the motor nerves are working by reading the amount of current found in the muscles. Muscles are controlled by the nerves that attach to them so if there is a misalignment in the spine where that nerve comes from it will show up on the scan due to the difference in current flowing to that muscle. The surface EMG also shows if a muscle is pulling harder on one side of the spine compared to the other. Muscle imbalances are a major cause of misalignments because the bones of the spine depend on those same muscles to move. Muscles may feel tight, weak, or fatigued when this occurs. These tests are of great benefit to patients because they help reduce that comes with the question “Why do I have to keep coming back when I’m pain free?” or “How do I know if I’m getting the proper amount of adjustments?” The scans will show you the problem areas and by re-scanning a patient they can see the changes being made. The scan is painless and safe for even the littlest of patients. Now is a great time to make an appointment to get a scan done to see how healthy you really are.
Kinesio taping is a treatment for many chronic
conditions including low back pain, shoulder stiffness, and even
allergies. The tape uses the bodies own natural healing process by
activating the nervous and circulatory systems of the body. This method of
treatment recognizes the importance of body and muscle movement and how
these play a role in every day life. Most people know that muscles control
how the body moves, but they also control the movement of blood through
veins, body temperature, and lymph flow for the immune system. This means
that the failure of muscles can be linked to many kinds of health
problems. The tape has four main functions: support muscles, remove
congestion and inflammation, activate the body’s pain control system, and
to correct joint and tissues. Kinesio tape supports muscles by helping them contract when they get weak. It also stops the muscle from over-extending or over-contracting causing inflammation. By not over-extending or contracting the muscle, it reduces muscle fatigue and helps avoid injury and muscle cramps. When the muscle becomes inflamed, swollen or stiff due to fatigue, the space between the skin and the muscle is compressed, this results in constriction to lymph fluid. Pain receptors are also compressed and give off signals to the brain – the person then experiences muscle pain. The tape reduces this pressure in the muscle decreasing inflammation and pain signals to the brain. Finally the tape reduces muscle spasm by relaxing tight muscles, which often causes joint pain, and helps improve the function of the effected joint. |
