Insight Subluxation Machine

At Opp Family Chiropractic, P.A., we utilize an advanced chiropractic technology that scans your spine and delivers a computerized image of the stress and tension to your nervous system. Two different technologies give us (and you) an objective assessment:
This new technology helps identify where these misalignments of the spine are and how they are affecting your overall health. The Insight subluxation machine detects areas of nerve disturbance by a couple of different scans that can be performed. The first is a thermal scan that measures the temperature of your skin on each side of your spine. A healthy person has a body temperature of 98.6 degrees, then the left and right sides of your spine should also be the same temperature. Your skin is the largest organ in the body with many blood vessels working underneath the skin to act as the body’s thermostat. When a disturbance in the nervous system occurs it causes the body’s thermostat to malfunction producing imbalanced temperature readings along the spine. These blood vessels are controlled by the same part of the brain and spinal cord that runs your organs and glands, so it gives us valuable information on this part of your health as well.
Another scan that we can do is called a surface EMG scan. This helps measure how well the motor nerves are working by reading the amount of current found in the muscles. Muscles are controlled by the nerves that attach to them so if there is a misalignment in the spine where that nerve comes from it will show up on the scan due to the difference in current flowing to that muscle. The surface EMG also shows if a muscle is pulling harder on one side of the spine compared to the other. Muscle imbalances are a major cause of misalignments because the bones of the spine depend on those same muscles to move. Muscles may feel tight, weak, or fatigued when this occurs.
These tests are of great benefit to patients because they help explain the questions “Why do I have to keep coming back when I’m pain free?” or “How do I know if I’m getting the proper amount of adjustments?” The scans will show you the problem areas and by re-scanning a patient they can see the changes being made. The scan is painless and safe for even the littlest of patients. Now is a great time to make an appointment to get a scan done to see how healthy you really are.
